Associate Veterinarian – Roanoke Animal Hospital

You care about your patients. That’s why we care about you.

At Roanoke Animal Hospital, we’ve been proudly serving pets and families of the Roanoke community for more than 30 years—combining deep roots, high-touch client service, and modern, high-quality medicine. As we evolve into a three-doctor team in early 2026, we’re looking for an experienced Associate Veterinarian who is ready to step into a cohesive, established practice where your skill, voice, and compassion truly matter.

If you’re a clinician who values autonomy, personalized medicine, and genuine relationships—with clients, patients, and teammates—you’ll feel right at home here.

Why Roanoke Animal Hospital

A Legacy of Compassionate, Family-Centered Care

Our clients know us by name, trust our advice, and rely on the continuity of care we provide. We are a deeply connected community clinic—not corporate in feel, but supported by NVA’s national network of resources, training, and career growth.

Autonomy + Support

NVA’s commitment to empowering veterinarians:

  • Practice your medicine your way, tailored to each patient.
  • Enjoy flexibility and the freedom to pursue your clinical interests.
  • Access robust CE, leadership development pathways, and medical mentorship from a collaborative team.
Who We’re Looking For

This role is built for an experienced doctor ready to step into a growing and stable general practice environment.

Ideal Candidate
  • Experience in small animal clinical practice
  • Confident with dentistry and soft tissue surgery
  • Warm, engaging personality—excellent with clients and teammates
  • Values communication, collaboration, and continuity of care
  • Comfortable joining a tight-knit team and contributing to hospital culture
  • Not a new grad role

With a manageable caseload, predictable schedule, and strong support staff, you can focus on doing what you do best: caring for pets and building lasting client relationships.

What You’ll Do

As part of our small animal–only team, you’ll manage:

  • Preventive and wellness care
  • General surgery (spays/neuters, mass removals, basic soft tissue)
  • Dentistry and dental radiography
  • Sick/injured patient workups
  • Client communication and education
  • Shared commitment to maintaining our warm, community-focused culture
What We Offer

NVA’s people-first approach ensures you have the tools, benefits, and support to thrive, including:

Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive base salary + production
  • Sign-on/retention bonus opportunities
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • PTO, paid holidays, and CE days
  • Annual CE allowance & professional development support
  • Dues, license fees, and professional liability coverage
  • Access to NVA’s flexible career pathways—including leadership development, medical mentorship, and long-term growth options
