Job Summary

The Critical Facilities Data Center Technician position requires strong technical, mechanical and administrative skills necessary to operate and maintain client properties. The primary focus is providing high levels of customer service including on‑site and on‑call plant operational support. Knowledge of building operations, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance is essential. The technician operates as a team member, supports the Chief Engineer, prioritizes multiple tasks, and delivers strong customer service to clients, contractors, and colleagues.

Responsibilities
  • Completing work assignments with limited supervision, thoroughly and efficiently.
  • Operating, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing building equipment related to efficient operation of building systems.
  • Maintaining all types of building equipment including HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, controls (electrical &pneumatic).
  • Supporting the property maintenance team, handling assigned customer service requests, actively participating in construction projects and special event set‑ups.
  • Assisting the Chief Engineer with compliance program completion and associated documentation.
  • Maintaining good tenant relations by responding to tenant requests promptly and courteously within JLL guidelines.
  • Performing predictive, preventative and routine maintenance and service requests.
  • Assisting contractors and ensuring contracted services are performed safely and in accordance with standards.
  • Maintaining and repairing locks, lock mechanisms, closers, doors, controllers.
  • Maintaining and completing documentation for fire extinguishers, fire suppression systems, building alarm contacts, and other fire life safety systems.
  • Maintaining and repairing single‑phase electrical components (breakers, switches, receptacles, junction boxes, conduit, lights, ballasts).
  • Maintaining and repairing plumbing components (toilets, urinals, lavatories, flush valves, water fountains, sinks, drains, water heaters, piping, sump pumps).
  • Providing all other building maintenance, repair and restorative procedures as directed.
  • Preparing, priming and painting building interior and exterior surfaces.
  • Performing general handyman tasks to maintain buildings.
  • Working independently with occasional collaboration as part of a team.
  • Occasional overtime and holiday work may be required.
Qualifications
  • 5–7 years of construction or building engineering related experience.
  • Trade or maintenance license preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Experience with hand tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Physically able to use electric hand tools, work on a ladder, carry tools, and lift up to 70 pounds.
  • Comfortable working in close spaces such as closets, crawl spaces, and on roofs.
  • Ability to diagnose problems, make decisions, prioritize, schedule, and complete multiple tasks.
  • Proven safety record and compliance with safe work practices.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and equipment manuals.
  • CFC Universal Refrigerant Certification.
  • Proficient computer skills (e‑mail, Word, Excel).
  • Exposure to a CMMS system such as Corrigo is a plus.
