Transportation Supervisor

The incumbent will supervise drivers and equipment, dispatch retail store deliveries, ensure driver compliance with state and federal DOT regulations, and maintain accurate transportation documentation.

The position will be based in Roanoke, TX.

• Assist with required records, reports and control systems.
• Work independently without a manager physically on site.

• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and practices.
• Train and develop dispatchers and drivers, identifying and mentoring high potential candidates.
• Maintain positive associate relations and interact successfully with other departments.
• Provide superior service to customers.
• Determine equipment and manpower requirements for daily operational needs.
• Maintain capital assets in as‑designed condition cost‑effectively.
• Implement new and monitor existing initiatives to reduce cost.
• Supervise and dispatch drivers.
• Work with drivers to maintain safe and courteous driving skills and facilitate meetings and development workshops.
• Ensure accuracy within transportation operations.
• Ensure compliance with all OSHA, DOT, sanitation and food safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation of transportation operations and personnel.

• High school graduate;
  Bachelor’s degree or 5 years supervisory experience in trucking is preferred.
• 3+ years progressive trucking experience; experience in grocery retail preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA & DOT safety regulations, sanitation and food safety at the management level.
• Strong technical skills and experience with TMS fleet routing optimization software (Prospero, One Network & CAMS preferred) as well as fleet on‑board computer systems (XATA preferred). Fleetworthy a plus.
• Experience using warehouse management system to interact with TMS.
• Enthusiastic and willing to learn new programs and procedures.
• Ability to make decisions quickly and cost effectively.
• Strong resolution skills with decisive action.
• Excellent written and oral interpersonal/communication skills.
• Proven leadership ability encompassing at least 3+ years managing 30+ reports.
• Ability to chart, forecast, plan, manage, and measure day‑to‑day operations.
• Ability to effectively interact with multiple levels within the distribution center and the company.
• Exhibits initiative and high energy for innovation, exemplary customer service skills and resourcefulness.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite, especially high‑level Excel proficiency.
