Overview
Penske Logistics is looking for Lead Warehouse Worker to become part of an excellent team at our operation in Northlake, Texas. This is a great opportunity for individuals who are safety conscious and have a pleasant, outgoing attitude who want to excel in a warehouse environment.
Pay- Hourly Rate: $22.50/hr
- Monday–Friday from 9:00 AM to close (7:00 AM start time as needed)
- Overtime as needed
- Executes assignments, provides status updates, and project visibility to Operations Supervisors
- Lead a team of warehouse associates to achieve operational goals while championing safety and productivity
- Operate forklifts, counterbalance, pallet jacks, and other equipment as needed
- Stage and sort products; loads and unloads trailers
- Ensure system counts match physical inventory
- Electronically scan products using a warehouse management system
- Quality control: ensure no damaged products are sent out and identify damaged products when received
- Complete daily logs and communicate with associates from other shifts or departments
- All associate training as well as back filling for supervisors
- Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments and material and equipment needs
- Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be loaded/unloaded
- Use computer to enter data and maintain inventory records as needed
- Open and close dock doors
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor
- 4 years of warehouse experience required
- 2 years of supervisory experience preferred
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Read, write, understand and speak English
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint preferred
- Ability to learn and use proprietary software required
- Flexible to work overtime required
- Ability to work in non-climate-controlled conditions
- Ability to lead a team, work independently, customer service, multitasking, organizational, and time-management skills
- Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
- Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, and complete Penske employment requirements (background check and drug screening)

- While performing the duties of this job, the associate will be required to move frequently, stand, walk, and sit. The associate is frequently required to use hands to touch, handle, and feel, and to reach with hands and arms. The associate must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs/23 kg and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs/45 kg.
