Lead Warehouse Worker

Overview

Penske Logistics is looking for Lead Warehouse Worker to become part of an excellent team at our operation in Northlake, Texas. This is a great opportunity for individuals who are safety conscious and have a pleasant, outgoing attitude who want to excel in a warehouse environment.

• Hourly Rate: $22.50/hr

• Monday–Friday from 9:00 AM to close (7:00 AM start time as needed)
• Overtime as needed

• Executes assignments, provides status updates, and project visibility to Operations Supervisors
• Lead a team of warehouse associates to achieve operational goals while championing safety and productivity
• Operate forklifts, counterbalance, pallet jacks, and other equipment as needed
• Stage and sort products; loads and unloads trailers
• Ensure system counts match physical inventory
• Electronically scan products using a warehouse management system
• Quality control: ensure no damaged products are sent out and identify damaged products when received
• Complete daily logs and communicate with associates from other shifts or departments
• All associate training as well as back filling for supervisors
• Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments and material and equipment needs
• Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be loaded/unloaded
• Use computer to enter data and maintain inventory records as needed
• Open and close dock doors
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor

• 4 years of warehouse experience required
• 2 years of supervisory experience preferred
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• Read, write, understand and speak English
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint preferred
• Ability to learn and use proprietary software required
• Flexible to work overtime required
• Ability to work in non-climate-controlled conditions
• Ability to lead a team, work independently, customer service, multitasking, organizational, and time-management skills
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
• Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, and complete Penske employment requirements (background check and drug screening)
