Accounting Manager, Accounts Receivable/ Collections, Financial Reporting
Roanoke, Virginia healthcare development company with 50 years of history is currently seeking an Accounting Team Member who is interested in adding value to the company and becoming an important member of the finance team. Management is looking for someone to assist in streamlining accounting and reporting processes through technology and process improvements to improve company systems and operations. The position will provide the opportunity to gain accounting and finance experience in areas of real estate development, rental properties, operations and electronic based reporting.
The Accounting Team Member will collaborate with leadership to evaluate, implement, and improve software solutions that automate manual workflows and enhance operational efficiency. This position offers significant growth within the company.
The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background with at least three years of experience. The candidate should possess a strong skill set in Microsoft Office products and demonstrate excellent communication, technology, and organizational skills. Knowledge of Sage Intacct and Yardi software will be beneficial. A positive attitude, high professional standards, integrity, and confidentiality are essential for this role.
The Accounting Team Member will be responsible for performing accounting functions for assigned entities within the organization, as well as reporting to management.
Responsibilities- Maintain financial records for assigned entities, including general ledger and cash accounts, bill paying, and monthly account reconciliations
- Interface with vendors and other outside sources, providing a high level of timely and accurate service
- Maintain all company records and information in a confidential manner
- Produce timely and accurate reports as requested
- Collaborate with leadership to improve software solutions that automate manual workflows
- Assist in streamlining accounting and reporting processes through technology and process improvements
- Other duties as assigned
- Undergraduate degree in accounting or closely related field; higher degree or credentials welcomed
- Minimum of three years of accounting experience preferred
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word & Excel)
- Experience with accounting and data software process automation tools is a plus
- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
