Tax Preparer

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Tax Preparer to support individuals and clients with accurate, timely tax filings. This position is well suited to someone who combines technical tax knowledge with a thorough, client-focused approach. The ideal candidate brings experience from tax, audit, or public accounting environments and is comfortable using industry software to manage return preparation efficiently.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and review individual tax returns with close attention to accuracy, compliance, and filing deadlines.

- Meet with clients to gather financial information, clarify tax-related questions, and provide a high-quality service experience.

- Apply current tax rules and regulations to assess documentation and complete returns correctly.

- Use tax preparation platforms, including Lacerte and other Intuit-based tools, to organize data and finalize filings.

- Examine supporting records for completeness and identify discrepancies or missing information before submission.

- Coordinate with internal team members or related stakeholders to resolve tax issues and support audit or accounting matters when needed.

- Maintain organized client files and documentation in accordance with firm standards and regulatory requirements. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- Previous experience preparing tax returns in a tax, audit, or public accounting setting.

- Working knowledge of individual income tax principles and filing requirements.

- Proficiency with tax software, including Lacerte and other Intuit applications.

- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact confidently and professionally with clients.

- High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail when handling financial information.

- Ability to manage multiple assignments effectively during busy tax periods.
