Our client, a leading organization in the retail industry, is seeking a dedicated Accounts Receivable Specialist to join their team. As an Accounts Receivable Specialist, you will be an integral part of the Finance Department supporting the Accounts Receivable team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully within the organization.
Job Title: Accounts Receivable Specialist
Location: Roanoke, VA
Pay Range:$20.25
Shift: Days 08:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
What's the Job?- Manage a portfolio of commercial customer accounts, ensuring timely collection of receivables
- Analyze open balances and contact customers to resolve overdue invoices
- Reconcile accounts and coordinate corrections for billing or cash application errors
- Resolve customer claims and disputed items while providing feedback to improve processes
- Support department goals by managing incoming calls, emails, and chat correspondence during peak periods
- Minimum of an Associate's degree in Business or related field, or equivalent experience
- At least 2 years of experience in credit and collections or a customer-facing role
- Understanding of basic accounting and bookkeeping procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and relevant business software
- Strong decision-making skills, attention to detail, and results-oriented mindset
