Overview
Woods Rogers is seeking to hire an experienced Legal Assistant to fill the role of Legal Assistant Floater. The Legal Assistant Floater acts as a substitute for other legal assistants when absent, completing all duties normally assigned to the legal assistants. This position also assists staff and attorneys with other assignments as needed. The ideal candidate will have experience performing secretarial tasks and providing administrative support to attorneys in various areas of legal practice.
This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, in-office position at our Roanoke office. The anticipated schedule for this position is Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM.

Required Qualifications- Minimum two (2) years of experience working as a Legal Assistant.
- Demonstrated ability to learn new skills and adapt to new processes.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively interact with clients and colleagues.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- High level of discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive client information.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook.
- Provide day-to-day secretarial support to the Firm’s attorneys, including scheduling meetings, answering phone calls, and processing incoming and outgoing mail.
- Produce, review, and send legal documents and reports.
- Enter billable time into timekeeping system.
- Navigate government and court websites to understand and comply with requirements for filings and procedures.
- Take initiative to reach out to attorneys and staff members who may need assistance.
- Communicate effectively with potential clients via phone, email, and in-person meetings.
- Follow established procedures to refer and coordinate conflict checks as needed.
