How You’ll Help Transform Healthcare:

The Contract Administrator III manages advanced research, negotiation, development, and maintenance of institutional and ancillary contracts for all the Clinic's assigned product and professional service categories. Develops negotiation strategies and planning with management and administration, conducts independent negotiations with vendors and corporate vendor leadership. Trains and mentors other staff.

  • Administers contracts for purchase/sale of equipment, materials, products, or services and responsible for ensuring full execution of contracts are within company guidelines.
  • Leads proposal preparation, contract negotiations, and administration of complex contracts.
  • Reviews financial and contractual compliance: comprehension and awareness of revenue recognition policies and key contractual terms.
  • Manages internal customer and vendor relationships to ensure successful contract implementation and operational effectiveness.
  • Works as a liaison between internal departments to resolve contractual issues. Collaborates with internal and external legal and business departments for contractual changes requested and/or contract interpretation.
  • Handles a wide variety of confidential and time sensitive matters.
  • Identifies contractual problems and advises appropriate action to ensure a satisfactory resolution.
  • Builds and maintains effective working relationships with internal and external customers and provides guidance, interpretation, and advice to other functional areas regarding contract matters.
  • Provides leadership to contract administrative team and provides performance feedback to leaders.
  • Provides guidance to coworkers in contracting area of specialty and with new-employee orientation.
  • Manages contract performance and supports the development and implementation of value-based contract relationships in support of business strategies.
  • As a team member, demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy in each encounter with patients, families, visitors, and other employees.
  • Champions Carilion's mission, vision, and values; comply with the policies and procedures, ethical standards and code of conduct set forth by the company. This position has authority to make decisions that impact the business including discretion and independent judgment.
What We Require:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Health Administration required.

Experience:

Minimum of 4 years of direct contract administration experience, including experience leading complex negotiations and managing high-impact agreements.

Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration:
None.

Other

Minimum Qualifications:

Advanced knowledge of industry business practices and contract negotiation strategies. Strong understanding of contract management and compliance requirements. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to analyze financial and contractual risk. Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills. Demonstrated ability to mentor staff. Administratively self-sufficient and service driven.

Compensation Range:

$69,721.60 - $

Employee pay is based on a variety of factors, including qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience. The compensation range does not include benefits or pension plan.
