UI/UX Design, Product Designer
Product Designers at Modea create exceptional digital experiences for the healthcare industry. You'll consult with clients and internal teams to translate complex business and user needs into clear, compelling, and efficient UI layouts, interactions, and flows. Working within an agile team, you will collaborate closely with Project Managers and Engineers to rapidly design, build, and validate solutions that drive measurable outcomes and make a real impact on users.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Translate complex user and business requirements into intuitive wireframes, user flows, and pixel‑perfect prototypes using tools like Figma
- Present and advocate for design solutions to client stakeholders, clearly articulating the "why" behind your recommendations based on research and business objectives
- Conduct user research (e.g., interviews, usability testing) to understand user needs, validate designs, and uncover new opportunities, with a keen focus on the healthcare context
- Collaborate and consult daily with agile teams (Project Managers, Engineers) to ensure designs are technically feasible, implemented to specification, and strategically aligned with client goals
- Iterate rapidly on designs based on user feedback, technical constraints, and stakeholder input
- Contribute to and maintain our design systems, ensuring consistency and quality across all products
- Analyze market trends and competitor products to inform design decisions and strategy
- A strong portfolio showcasing your expertise in user-centered design, interaction/visual design, and design thinking
- 2+ years of professional design experience, which must include:
- Designing and prototyping cross‑platform interfaces using tools like Figma
- Working directly within agile delivery teams and advising client stakeholders on design decisions
- Proven experience with the full design lifecycle, from user research and wire framing to hi‑fidelity mockups and usability testing
- Bachelor’s degree in HCI, Interaction Design, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Preferred:
Experience in healthcare, or another complex, regulated industry; previous experience in a design consulting or agency environment is also highly valued

Work EnvironmentModeans are able to work at any location in Virginia, Tennessee, or North Carolina, unless otherwise required by job responsibilities. We offer a modern office located in Blacksburg, VA. Our office provides an indoor space with moderate temperatures and noise levels. Employees may work fully‑office, fully‑remote, or hybrid. Employees may occasionally need to travel to our offices or other locations for training or client visits.
We will provide tools to perform the job at home as well as in the office.
Must be able to remain in a stationary position during the duration of the workday. Individuals must have the ability to constantly operate a computer. Must have the ability to converse with and exchange information with clients and coworkers both in person and through a computer. Capable of occasionally transporting items of 10 lbs or less to and from the office.
