Architectural Designer Roanoke, VA

Job Description

AECOM is seeking an Architectural Designer to be based in Roanoke, VA. This position is expected to begin in May 2026.

• Participate in high-energy, collaborative team and project environments.
• Provide design and documentation support on projects of various sizes, types, and complexity.
• Produce rapid visualization of design concepts and assist with building presentations to clients.
• Develop iterative solutions for a variety of design, working under supervision by senior design staff.
• Adapt and modify design features and operational methods to meet a variety of situations.
• Participate in design through all phases, from concept to construction administration.
• Perform technical assignments of moderate complexity within approved schedules and budgets under the direction of the Senior Architect.
• Coordinate technical and administrative activities with employees in other disciplines and departments participating on an assigned project under the direction of the Senior Architect.

• Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or a related field.
• U.S. Citizenship is required for this role.

• Master's degree in Architecture with 2+ years of demonstrated equivalency of experience.
• Desire to actively work toward architectural licensure.
• Strong conceptual design and schematic design skills.
• Working knowledge of 3D modeling with Autodesk Revit and other related software.
• Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Enscape, Lumion, Rhino, or other visualization tools or rendering software.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
