Lead Teachers
The Lead Teachers will assist and support the Program Coordinators, Assistant & Center Director with the overall day to day center management by overseeing and managing their classroom.
They will deliver a high quality Early Childhood program, establishing professional, positive relationships with parents, children, colleagues and the community.
They will conduct regular observations and develop plan of actions, if needed, to ensure the quality of care for the children. They will ensure that their program promotes the development of each child’s physical, social, emotional and cognitive development, in a nurturing, Developmentally Appropriate Environment.
They will model exemplary professionalism and work within the structure outlined by Honey Tree’s Policies and Procedures, and the Standards of Licensing.
They will ensure safety and supervision of children at all times by meeting the physical demands of the position and be able to substitute in the classroom, as a driver and/or cook as needed.
Must be able to successfully complete all required background screenings

Teacher Assistant
The Teacher's Assistant plays a vital role in supporting lead teachers to create an effective and engaging learning environment for young children. This position involves assisting with classroom management responsibilities, and providing individualized attention to children who need extra help. The Teacher's Assistant fosters a positive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages the children's participation and growth. By collaborating closely with teachers and administrative staff, the assistant ensures that classroom operations run smoothly and that children receive the support they need to succeed.
Ultimately, this role contributes significantly to the overall experience and development of the children within the facility.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting. (Preferred)
- Basic understanding of classroom management and instructional support techniques.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively with teachers and staff.
- Previous experience as a teacher's assistant or in a similar educational support role.
- Familiarity with educational technology and digital learning tools.
- Certification in CPR and first aid. (Must obtain within the first 30 days of employment)
- Assist the lead teacher in preparing lesson plans, instructional materials, and classroom activities.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to children who require additional help with coursework or behavioral guidance.
- Help maintain classroom order and discipline to create a safe and productive learning environment.
- Monitor and record student attendance, participation, and progress, reporting observations to the lead teacher.
- Support the setup and cleanup of classroom resources and technology before and after lessons.
- Facilitate communication between children, teachers, and parents as needed to support the child's development.
The required and preferred skills are essential for effectively supporting classroom instruction and child engagement. Strong communication skills enable the assistant to interact clearly and empathetically with children, teachers, and parents, fostering a collaborative learning environment. Organizational skills are used daily to prepare materials, manage classroom resources, and assist with administrative duties, ensuring smooth classroom operations. Patience and adaptability help the assistant respond to the varying needs and behaviors of children, providing personalized support where necessary.
