The Department of Biology is hiring two types of adjunct faculty to teach courses at the Roanoke site for our:

Successful applicants will teach the lecture, clinical simulations, or lab components for their courses, all of which will be offered in‑person. Instructional responsibilities include (but are not limited to) preparing and delivering course content, assessing student learning, holding office hours, and contributing to a rigorous learning environment that focuses on student academic success.

Adjunct faculty are encouraged to engage in professional development through programs, trainings, or seminars offered by Radford’s Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning and by other organizations at Radford University. Faculty are also encouraged to participate in departmental, college, and university events.

• All faculty must have at least a Master’s degree in the field/discipline in which they are teaching with 18 hours of course work related to the course(s) being taught. In some cases, subject to the approval by the Provost, a faculty member could be recommended for appointment based on substitution of significant experience for the degree.

  Candidates applying to teach courses in the Medical Laboratory Science program (i.e., MLAB 401 or MLAB 411) must hold a current certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist. Categorical certifications will not be considered. Candidates must have at least three years’ experience working as a medical laboratory scientist. This certification is not needed if you are applying to teach Anatomy and Physiology or Microbiology.
