Job Description: This is an in‑person, clinical adjunct faculty position. Clinical adjuncts supplement the faculty of a department whenever additional faculty are needed. They hold appointments as defined by their letter of appointment, without eligibility for tenure; appointments may be renewed upon the Dean's authorization. Adjunct appointments do not guarantee course assignments.

Required Qualifications: All adjunct clinical faculty must have at least a Bachelor's degree in Nursing with current clinical experience. Unencumbered Virginia licensure eligibility is required, along with current CPR certification. If certified as an Advance Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), continued certification is expected.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 years of clinical experience preferred
  • Experience as instructor or adjunct faculty preferred
  • National certification in specialty preferred

Special Instructions to Applicants: Applicants must submit an unofficial copy of transcripts of post‑secondary coursework with the application. If official transcripts are already on file in the Office of the Provost, a statement indicating such suffices. Official transcripts of all post‑secondary coursework will be required upon selection for hire and must be sent directly to the Office of the Provost, Attention:
Transcript Clerk/Coordinator, Campus P.O. Box 6910, Radford University, Radford, VA 24142. Adjunct instructors must attend a scheduled adjunct orientation; the date and time will be announced upon appointment.

Employment Conditions: Applicants must be able to drive or travel between locations. Unencumbered Virginia licensure eligibility is required, along with current CPR certification. If certified as an Advance Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), continued certification is expected.

Salary: $1,040 (1 credit per 4 students) to $7,250 (workload of 4 for 90 hours)
