Physics Adjunct Faculty (Part-Time)
Virginia Western Community College, located in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains of the Roanoke Valley, is accepting applications for part-time Physics Adjunct Faculty in the School of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Adjunct faculty positions are appointed on a course-by-course, semester basis as needed. Physics adjunct faculty are needed to teach college-level courses in-person on the main Virginia Western campus.
Faculty are expected to maintain currency in their teaching disciplines and in trends in community college education.
Must possess a Master's degree in Physics or a Master's degree (in any field) with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Physics courses. All Adjunct Faculty positions require excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to write syllabi and exams; ability to develop learning strategies, curriculum and assessments; as well as the ability to work with students of varying abilities from diverse backgrounds.
Doctorate degree in Physics. Teaching experience at the college level.
