Biology Adjunct Faculty (Part-Time)

Virginia Western Community College, located in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains of the Roanoke Valley, is accepting applications for part-time Biology Adjunct Faculty in the School of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). Adjunct faculty positions are appointed on a course-by-course, semester basis as needed. Biology adjunct faculty are needed to teach college-level courses in-person on the main Virginia Western campus, or a hybrid class where lectures are online and labs are in-person on the main Virginia Western campus.

Faculty are expected to maintain currency in their teaching disciplines and in trends in community college education. In addition, faculty are expected to be active participants in all Biology department communication.

Must possess a Master's degree in Biology or a Master's degree (in any field) with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Biology courses. All Adjunct Faculty positions require excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to write syllabi and exams; ability to develop learning strategies, curriculum and assessments; as well as the ability to work with students of varying abilities from diverse backgrounds.
