Job Description

Virginia Western Community College is accepting applications for part-time Business Administration and Management Adjunct Faculty in the School of Business, Technology, and Trades (BTT). Positions are appointed on a course‑by‑course, semester basis as needed. Adjunct faculty are required to teach college‑level courses in‑person on the main campus, as well as distance learning/online courses. Courses include but are not limited to Intro to Business, Principles of Management, Human Resources Management, Marketing, Financial Management, and Applied Management Principles.

Faculty are expected to maintain currency in their teaching disciplines and in trends in community college education, develop syllabi and exams, create learning strategies, curriculum and assessments, and actively participate in departmental communications.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or management along with a Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in business administration or management and 2 years of related occupational experience in business‑related positions.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to write syllabi and exams; ability to develop learning strategies, curriculum and assessments; ability to work with students of varying abilities from diverse backgrounds.
Additional Considerations
  • Teaching experience at the college level, preferably at the community college level.
  • Experience using technology in the classroom.
