Job DescriptionVirginia Western Community College is accepting applications for a nine‑month Radiography faculty position in the School of Health Professions beginning the Fall 2026 semester (August 2026). The position will serve as Program Clinical Coordinator in accordance with JRCERT Standards for an accredited educational program in Radiography.
Responsibilities include teaching college‑level courses in Radiography. Faculty members teach approximately 15 credits per semester for a total of about 30 credits per academic year. The workload may include face‑to‑face and hybrid/distance learning courses during the day and evening, on weekdays and weekends. In addition to teaching, faculty students advise, serve on college committees, and participate in other activities that support the mission of the college, such as departmental meetings, curriculum planning, programmatic assessment, course and program evaluation, community service, club sponsorship, student recruitment and retention activities, and mentoring new and part‑time faculty.
This position will focus primarily on teaching Radiation Science courses as well as other courses with specific topics.
All candidates selected for an interview will conduct a 15‑minute teaching session on a pre‑selected topic. Additional details will be provided when interviews are scheduled.
This is a nine‑month teaching faculty position with pay and benefits spread across twelve months, with an expectation to start in Fall 2026 (August). The position will have expected summer teaching and clinical coordination duties; summer hours will be part‑time and will vary each year.
Minimum Qualifications- Associates degree required.
- Bachelor's degree in progress with anticipated completion date within 24 months of hire.
- Experience in curriculum development, supervision, instruction, evaluation, and academic advising.
- Documented two years of current clinical experience in diagnostic imaging.
- Documented one year experience as an instructor in a JRCERT‑accredited program.
- Current ARRT certification and registration, or equivalent, in radiography.
- Current, unrestricted Virginia state R.T. license or license eligibility.
- Bachelor's degree in Radiography or a health‑related field preferred.
- Master's degree in a health‑related field preferred.
- Student‑focused with experience teaching students in a community college setting preferred.
- Experience using classroom technology (Canvas, Panopto, PowerPoint, etc.) preferred.
- Experience providing student instruction in the classroom, lab, and clinical settings preferred.
