Salary: $70,000.00 Annually
The Coordinator of Career and Technical Education (CTE) is responsible for managing all aspects of CTE programming within the Minnick Schools system. This includes curriculum development, program implementation, staff support, student workplace credentialing, and developing partnerships with local businesses and community organizations. The Coordinator ensures that CTE programming and implementation provides students with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in their chosen vocational and/or post-secondary educational placements.
We serve students ages 5 to 22 who need extra support to find success in the classroom and community in locations across Virginia.

This role requires driving, therefore a "clean driving record" is critical.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING, REQUIREMENTS, AND PREREQUISITES
- Bachelor’s degree in education or related field, Masters preferred.
- Valid Virginia teaching license required; endorsement in Special Education preferred.
- 5-years’ experience in an educational setting required.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a CTE related role preferred.
- Experience in a school administration or leadership role preferred.
- Ability to travel as directed to all school sites as directed for the provision of on-site support and evaluation of CTE programming.
- Advance computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office and Office 365 preferred
- Valid Virginia Drivers’ License and proof of insurance.
- Satisfactory Driving Record in accordance with Driver Requirements policy.
- Ability to drive agency vehicles or personal vehicles as needed.
- Ability to observe health and safety regulations.
- Must be able to participate in and maintain certification in crisis de-escalation techniques, First Aid, and CPR as requested.
- Must serve as a mandated reporter.
- Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-4:00PM. - DRIVING SPECIFIC(The following list may or may not be all inclusive at time of posting):
- Must not have any of the following violations within the last 5 years:
- Reckless driving, including speeding 20mph or more over the posted speed limit.
- Driving under the influence/impaired/intoxicated or refusing a blood/breath test.
- Manslaughter or negligent homicide.
- Driving after being declared a habitual offender.
- Driving on a suspended or revoked license
- Driving a commercial motor vehicle while disqualified, under the influence, with a blood alcohol level of .04 or higher, refusing a blood/breath test, or violating an out-of-service order.
- Injuring a person while racing - felony.
- Failure to stop at the scene of a crash where there is injury, death, or property damage of $1000 or more.
- Emergency vehicle violation - death.
- Vehicular assault or willful stopping, impeding, or damaging a vehicle.
- Blocking access to the service facility.
- Attempting to elude police.
- Operating an unsafe vehicle.
- Vulnerable Road User – Death.
- Must not have any of the following violations within the last 3 years:
- Passing a stopped school bus.
- Careless driving.
- Three or more minor moving violations within the last three years.
- Must not have any of the following violations within the last 5 years:
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions:
May be required to perform any of the following duties:
- Teach CTE courses as assigned at the Roanoke campus.
- Routinely travel to other campuses to observe CTE programming to ensure fidelity to programmatic expectations, evaluate effectiveness, and to provide feedback and support.
