Job DescriptionVirginia Western Community College, located in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains of the Roanoke Valley, is accepting applications for part-time Plumbing Adjunct Faculty to teach Friday evening and Saturday day classes in the School of Business, Technology, and Trades (BTT). Adjunct faculty positions are appointed on a course-by-course, semester basis as needed.
Plumbing adjunct faculty are required to teach college‑level courses in‑person on the main Virginia Western campus. Courses include Principles of Plumbing Trade I, Principles of Plumbing Trade II, and Plumbing Code and Certification Preparation. Faculty are expected to maintain currency in their teaching disciplines and stay abreast of trends in community college education, as well as to be active participants in departmental communication.
Applications will be received and considered on a continuous basis. Review of applications will occur when an adjunct faculty need arises and will continue until needed positions are filled.
Minimum Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Five years of occupational experience in the residential and/or commercial plumbing occupational field.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to write syllabi and exams; ability to develop learning strategies, curriculum, and assessments.
- Ability to work with students of varying abilities from diverse backgrounds.
- Master plumber license.
