Our Roanoke office seeks a candidate with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, emphasis on HVAC systems and project design for buildings.

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering with emphasis on HVAC systems.

• P.E. registration required, with ability to register in multiple states.

• Minimum 8+ years experience in commercial and residential building HVAC system design.

• Knowledge of ASHRAE standards, NFPA, and IBC codes, and experience with analysis and layout of HVAC systems, hydronic piping, air distribution, and HVAC products and materials.

• Meet with architects and team members to determine HVAC systems, equipment location, and preliminary cost estimates.
• Perform field work to determine design direction, including evaluation of existing HVAC components for reuse and retrofit.
• Collaborate with architects, clients, and engineering disciplines to coordinate systems during design and production drawings.
• Prepare contract documents using the latest version of Revit software.
• Develop technical construction specifications to support project design and drawings.
• Prepare design development and construction documents, coordinating with engineering team.
• Oversee and mentor less experienced engineering and architectural team members.
• Assist in HVAC construction administration, including shop drawing review, site visits, cost proposal evaluations, and responding to field inquiries.
• Maintain strong communication skills, managing multiple simultaneous project assignments across different phases.
• Exhibit excellent client interface capabilities and organizational skills.
• Show enthusiasm and eagerness for continued education and skill development.
