Design Supervisor

Job Summary

Our client is seeking a full-time Design Supervisor to lead their drafting and design operations at their Roanoke, VA headquarters. In this pivotal role, you will manage, mentor, and schedule a multidisciplinary team of structural and electrical designers, transforming high‑level engineering concepts into precise manufacturing blueprints. We are looking for a veteran designer or design engineer with over five years of industrial or modular design experience who is ready to step into a leadership role while remaining close to the technical details.

• Manage and mentor a team of structural and electrical designers while assigning project workloads to meet manufacturing deadlines.
• Establish and enforce drafting standards and modeling best practices to maintain design consistency.
• Conduct detailed quality reviews on integrated structural and electrical drawing packages before they go to production.
• Ensure all modular building designs comply with customer specifications and relevant national and state building codes.
• Partner with the engineering manager to optimize design templates, reduce waste, and improve manufacturability.
• Act as the main technical contact for the factory floor to quickly resolve design issues during fabrication.
• Gather feedback from field technicians to continuously improve initial design layouts.

• Minimum 5 years of experience.
