Application Engineer – Variable Speed Drives. Roanoke, VA. Up to $139K Base. 5 Weeks PTO | ~15% Travel.
What You’ll Do- Define system requirements and develop specifications for low & medium voltage VFD systems
- Collaborate with OEMs and end users to deliver custom-engineered solutions
- Troubleshoot AC/DC drive systems both remotely and on-site
- Develop electrical schematics and support system‑level design
- Assist with commissioning, tuning, and optimization of VFD systems
- Evaluate vendor proposals and recommend cost‑effective solutions
- Support technical proposals, costing, and client discussions
- BS in Electrical Engineering (or related field)
- Experience with variable frequency drives (VFDs) in industrial environments
- Strong troubleshooting and application engineering experience
- Ability to work cross‑functionally with internal teams and customers
- 5 weeks PTO starting day one
- Work on custom, project‑based automation systems
- High visibility with clients and real ownership of your work
