Job Description
AECOM's Buildings + Places Structural Engineering team in Roanoke, VA is seeking an Entry-Level Structural Engineer to join the team! This is a wonderful growth opportunity for hands-on experience and mentorship from a team of Engineers and Project Managers. This team works on a mix of Federal and non-Federal projects across the US and the globe. We work on a hybrid schedule of 3 days in the office with the team and 2 days remote.

In this role, the Entry-Level Structural Engineer:
* Builds analytic and design skills.
* Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
* Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
* Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
* Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
* Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering concentration or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
* Due to the nature of the work, must be a United States Citizen
Preferred Qualifications:
* Engineer in Training (EIT) certification
* Master's degree with a Structural Engineering concentration
* Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel
* Structural problem analysis skills (including knowledge/use of design and calculation tools, software)
* Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to interact with clients in a professional manner
* Strong organizational and analytical skills
* Available for periodic travel
* Relevant intern/co-op/work experience
* Academic classes, projects or experience through internships or work that include design experience with concrete, steel, wood, masonry, and/or foundations
* Exposure to Revit is a plus
