Clark Nexsen is seeking a motivated and experienced Bridge Inspection Team Leader to join our growing bridge safety inspection practice. This role involves leading bridge inspection teams, performing in-depth structural condition assessments, and preparing thorough inspection reports compliant with the National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bridge inspection, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to safety and quality.
The role also involves engineering design for tasks or sub‑tasks in a specialized discipline, using basic project management and advanced knowledge of general engineering principles, and coordinating with design and other project engineers to efficiently complete project goals on schedule, budget, and with quality.
Compensation for this position is $85,000.00 – $, commensurate with experience, education and certifications. The provided range is a good faith estimate based on the requirements described within the job description. The actual salary may vary from the estimate provided. The role offers opportunities for candidates ranging from EITs with inspection experience to licensed PEs with senior‑level expertise. Candidates without a PE license but with substantial inspection experience are encouraged to apply and will be considered.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities- Support overall Project Manager by executing project management responsibilities for respective discipline, including developing hours estimates, scope, etc.
- Provide design status updates to the Project Manager.
- Track the budgets of discipline task(s).
- Oversee sub‑tasks within their respective discipline for a project.
- Execute quality control and quality assurance plans as provided by the PMP for the project.
- Delegate project tasks to project team members.
- Coach/mentor design staff through the design process.
- Provide consultative services to the client(s), including attending client meetings, providing timely updates, and appropriate solutions to meet their expectations.
- Collaborate and manage project sub‑consultants and other internal disciplines.
- Develop extra work order requests and open‑end contract task proposals.
- Perform alternative studies, evaluate impacts, develop and finalize reports for client.
- Plan, schedule, conduct or coordinate detailed phases of the engineering work in a part of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope.
- Design projects using advanced discipline knowledge, client specifications and guidelines using design software and drawing tools.
- Perform or check design computations.
- Prepare and compile contract plans, specifications and estimates.
- Coordinate with internal team members to ensure alignment and project completion by the defined deadline and established quality.
- Provide technical oversight and guidance/support of Design Engineers within department.
- Lead and manage team members by providing leadership and continuous performance management (setting expectations, goals, feedback, 1:1 meetings, coaching) that supports the growth and development of the team.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- NCEES Record to facilitate licensure through reciprocity is desirable.
- Active participation in NSPE, ASCE, or other related professional organizations is desirable.
- Ability to effectively utilize current company software programs for word processing, e‑mail, accounting, and information management.
- Ability to prepare effective and concise documents and correspondence.
