Structural Engineer - Technical Discipline Lead

The Structural Engineer will perform the following duties:
This person will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
- Serve as Senior technical resource and project lead for the preparation of structural engineering deliverables for commercial and governmental facilities.
- Independently perform and review structural calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Lead a group of engineers and BIM technicians focused on structural and multi-discipline projects.
- Conduct conditions assessments, feasibility studies, and structural investigations of existing buildings.
- Oversee construction administration activities including submittal reviews, RFI responses, and site observations.
- Perform quality control reviews of calculations and drawings prepared by others.
- Significantly contribute to interdisciplinary coordination and design reviews.
- Assist department in developing standards and maintaining current code and practice knowledge.
- Mentor less experienced structural engineers and support their career growth.
- Represent structural engineering in client meetings and presentations.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited program plus 6 years of relevant structural engineering experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Valid Professional Engineer license recognized by a state licensing board
- U.S. Citizenship due to the nature of the work
Preferred Requirements
- Master's degree in Structural Engineering
- 10 or more years of experience with an engineering firm designing structural systems for commercial and institutional facilities
- Ability to obtain security clearance.
- Proven experience with major building codes (IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC, TMS, NDS)
- Proficient in the use of 3D structural analysis software (RAM Structural, ETABS, RISA, SAP
2000, etc.) - Demonstrated experience designing concrete and steel structures.
- Strong written communication, presentation, and client interface skills
- Proficiency with Revit, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with Antiterrorism/Force Protection and Blast Resistant structural design.
- Relocation assistance may be available.
