Engineering Technologist

Our client is seeking an Engineering Designer to join their growing team in Roanoke, VA. This is a fully onsite position supporting a variety of Power and Electrical Distribution projects
. In this role, you will develop engineering designs and work orders using company-specific software, with comprehensive training provided. Responsibilities

• Create and revise engineering designs and work orders for electrical distribution projects
• Utilize AutoCAD and proprietary software to develop utility and power distribution designs
• Interpret utility maps, engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documents
• Collaborate with internal teams, field personnel, and customers to gather project requirements
• Ensure designs meet company, industry, and safety standards
• Maintain accurate project documentation and design records
• Support multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and quality expectations
• Communicate effectively with customers and stakeholders to address project needs

Required Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in an engineering-related field such as:
• Applied Sciences
• Mathematics
• Geography
• Construction Management
• Or a related discipline
• Ability to work onsite in Roanoke, VA on a full-time basis
• Experience with AutoCAD
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Utilities, Electrical Distribution, or Power Distribution
• Ability to read and interpret utility maps, blueprints, and construction drawings
• Previous experience supporting engineering or infrastructure projects
