Overview
Patient Service Representative (PSR) – Urgent Care – Hollins at Bon Secours. The PSR is the welcoming agent for patients entering the urgent care center and collects necessary information to initiate the visit. The registrar communicates and models the mission and values of Bon Secours.
Responsibilities- Collect patient information and co-pays required to initiate an urgent care visit and document such information within the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Answer phones in a manner consistent with Bon Secours standards of excellence, appropriately route calls, schedule patients, and enter necessary information for patient scheduling into the computer system accurately and timely.
- Follow front-end revenue cycle check-in procedures: obtain registration, enter required information, secure necessary signatures, update information, register patients promptly, collect missing information, and collect co-pays or balances.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment; ensure supplies and equipment are properly functioning.
- Participate as an active member of the patient care team, including attendance at clinical huddles.
- Reconcile cash drawer at close of day; schedule follow-up appointments and assist with scheduling other services as needed.
- Support other duties such as DOT specimen collection, ordering supplies, cleaning/disposal of contaminated supplies, scheduling, and phone triage.
- Adhere to the organization’s policies and be willing to perform other related tasks as required by supervision.
- Education:
High School Diploma or GED required. - Experience:
At least one year of face-to-face registration or customer service experience. - Skills:
Strong oral communication, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
