Job Details:

• Work 3x12 hour day shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM

• Weekend requirement:
Every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block

• Must work one holiday per 13-week contract (2 holidays during winter season)

• Patient ratio: 1:4-5 (must be comfortable with 1:5 ratio)

• 48 hours of orientation provided

• Required to float to units within clinical skillset

• EPIC charting system experience required

• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS

• Clinical skills include cardiac monitoring, emergency response, dysrhythmia interpretation and management

• IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, central/peripheral line care

• Medication administration, cardiac drips (no titration)

• Respiratory support including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management

• Care for adult patients with neurological conditions including neurosurgical recovery, stroke management

• Handle 24-hour epilepsy monitoring with 5 dedicated beds

• Minimum 1 year of experience required

• Previous charge experience preferred

• First-time travelers and pending licenses accepted (with restrictions)

• All time-off requests must be submitted with application

This facility is a 703-bed acute care teaching hospital and flagship medical center serving as the region's only Level I Trauma Center. It features advanced specialty care, a dedicated children's hospital, and is certified as an Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center providing comprehensive stroke care with 24/7 neurointerventional coverage and advanced endovascular procedures.

The Neuro PCU is a 20-bed unit offering comprehensive neurological care with interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams.
