Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work 3x12 hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• 13-week assignment duration
• Weekend requirement:
  May be every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule
• Currently 1:5 patient ratios for PCU with goal of 1:4
• Expected to float as needed to other PCU units and potentially Med Surg
• Work on hospitalist unit/general medicine PCU
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with pulmonary and medicine-related illnesses
• Manage patients on telemetry monitoring with remote telemetry system
• Handle chest tubes, IV drips (Cardizem, Heparin, Insulin, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Amiodarone, Nitro, Bumex, Lasix), trach patients, PICC lines
• Work with oxygen modes including CPAP and BiPAP
• Unit can accommodate 2 ventilated patients (chronic trach patients, not ICU level)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• EPIC experience required
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Must work at least 1 holiday per 13-week assignment (2 holidays during winter season)
• 32 hours of orientation provided
• Self-scheduling system

The facility maintains modern equipment and technology including remote telemetry monitoring and has implemented innovative solutions like tele-sitting to optimize patient care staffing.
