Patient Access Specialist

Description We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Patient Access Specialist to join our healthcare team in Roanoke, Virginia. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring a positive and efficient experience for patients and visitors, utilizing your organizational and communication skills to support their needs. This is a Contract to permanent position that offers the opportunity to grow within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

- Greet patients and visitors with professionalism and warmth, ensuring a welcoming experience.

- Perform accurate patient registration, including verifying insurance information and updating records.

- Schedule and confirm patient appointments, while managing follow-up communications.

- Process payments and handle co-pays, ensuring daily financial transactions are accurately reconciled.

- Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to maintain smooth patient flow and operations.

- Uphold patient confidentiality by strictly following privacy regulations and policies.

- Assist patients with inquiries or concerns, providing empathetic support and escalating issues when necessary.

- Ensure all documentation is completed and maintained in compliance with healthcare standards. Requirements - Proven experience in patient registration, scheduling, or a similar role within a healthcare setting.

- Strong understanding of medical insurance verification processes.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.

- Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail and accuracy.

- Familiarity with healthcare systems and software for record-keeping and scheduling.

- Knowledge of privacy regulations and ability to maintain patient confidentiality.

- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in medical administration is a plus. Talent Match®
