Patient Access Specialist

Description We are looking for a compassionate and detail-oriented Patient Access Specialist to join our team in Roanoke, Virginia. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring their experience is efficient and welcoming. This is a Contract to permanent position, offering the opportunity to grow within a dynamic healthcare environment.

Responsibilities:

- Greet patients and visitors with professionalism and ensure their check-in process is smooth and efficient.

- Accurately register patients in the system, verifying insurance information and updating records as necessary.

- Schedule appointments, confirm bookings, and follow up to ensure patients are informed of their visits.

- Handle payment transactions, including collecting co-pays and reconciling daily balances.

- Collaborate with clinical staff and administrative teams to maintain seamless patient flow.

- Adhere to confidentiality standards and safeguard sensitive patient information.

- Provide prompt and empathetic assistance to address patient concerns, escalating complex issues to appropriate personnel when required.

- Maintain a well-organized workspace and ensure all documentation is accurate and up-to-date. Requirements - Previous experience in patient registration, scheduling, or a similar role within a healthcare setting.

- Strong familiarity with medical insurance verification processes.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and staff.

- Proficiency in using healthcare-related software and systems.

- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

- Knowledge of patient privacy regulations and adherence to confidentiality protocols.

- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in healthcare administration is a plus. Talent Match®
