Job Description
The Fralin Biomedical Research Institute is seeking an HR Assistant to provide administrative support to FBRI and HS&T. This position assists with personnel records, leave administration, wagepayroll, HR correspondence, and the processing of HR documentation while maintaining employee records in accordance with universitypolicies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have strong administrative experience, experience handling confidential information, and excellent organizational skills. Success in thisrole requires a strong commitment to customer service,collaboration, attention to detail, effective communication, andthe ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
This position supports a variety of HR functions, including maintaining employee directories, monthly leave records, assisting the Senior HR Manager with new hire documentation, processing wagetime entry, communicating deadlines to ensure compliance, and performing other related duties as assigned. The HR Assistant alsosupports onboarding and offboarding activities, daily HR operations, and compliance with university and departmentalprocesses.
This position offers opportunities for professional growth andexpanded responsibilities over time. As experience is gained, theHR Assistant may assist with program coordination, process improvement initiatives, and additional HR projects in collaboration with the Senior HR Manager.

Possesses a high level of organization and time management skillsto manage time sensitive and competing priorities. - Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, and the ability to interact respectfully withall individuals.
- Proven ability to cultivate positive working relationships, buildand maintain a team-based approach, and gain the trust and respectof all levels of internal and external constituencies.
- Demonstrated ability to work with sensitive and confidential matters and perform duties with a high level of professionalism,confidentiality, flexibility, discretion, judgment, diplomacy, andtact.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications,including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, as well as otherstandard office technologies.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One year of experience supporting human resources functions.
- Experience with payroll, human resources, and/or employee onboarding
- Experience using systems such as HRIS, applicant trackingsystems, Banner, Page Up, or similar platforms.
