SAP ABAP HANA – Sr Consultant

The SAP ABAP on HANA Senior Consultant will be responsible for leading and delivering complex SAP S/4

HANA technical solutions, driving system optimization, and ensuring best practices in development and architecture. This role demands strong technical expertise in ABAP on HANA, combined with hands-on experience in RAP, CDS Views, OData, Fiori integration, and SAP BTP extensibility. As a senior consultant, the individual will play a key role in solution design, code governance, technical mentorship, and collaboration with business and functional stakeholders.

• Lead design, development, and implementation of SAP ABAP on HANA solutions within S/4
  
  HANA environments.
• Collaborate with business and functional teams to translate requirements into robust, scalable, and efficient technical designs.
• Develop and optimize complex CDS Views, AMDP, and OData Services for SAP Fiori and analytical applications.
• Implement RAP (Restful ABAP Programming Model) and ABAP Cloud extensibility for on-premise and cloud-based S/4
  
  HANA systems.
• Define and enforce coding standards, conduct peer code reviews, and ensure compliance with SAP Clean Core principles.
• Troubleshoot complex technical and performance issues, perform root cause analysis, and propose sustainable solutions.
• Mentor junior consultants, provide technical guidance, and support team members in development and testing activities.
• Collaborate with project managers and architects to ensure timely delivery of high-quality technical solutions.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, functional specifications, and deployment guides.
• Stay updated with the latest SAP innovations, tools, and frameworks to continuously improve solution quality.

A Senior ABAP on HANA Consultant with 8+ years of experience should demonstrate expertise in:

• Advanced ABAP on HANA concepts:
  Open SQL, Code Pushdown, CDS Views, AMDP, HANA Procedures.
• Core ABAP:
  Enhancements, BADIs, Exits, BAPIs, RFCs, and Custom Frameworks.
• RAP and CAP models for developing scalable cloud-ready applications.
• SAP Gateway / OData Services:
  Design, consumption, debugging, and integration with Fiori/UI5.
• Fiori integration:
  Extending and customizing Fiori/UI5 apps using ABAP and OData.
• Performance tuning: SQL trace (ST05), Runtime Analysis (SAT), and HANA performance optimization.
• Integration with SAP BTP, CPI, and external APIs.
• Transport Management, GCTS, Git integration, and CI/CD processes for SAP development.
• Knowledge of SAP Clean Core extensibility approach and S/4
  
  HANA upgrade-safe development practices.

SAP Certified Development Specialist – ABAP for SAP HANA or SAP Certified Development Associate – ABAP for SAP HANA.
Preferred Tools:
