Industrial Systems Lab Technician / Automation Lab Coordinator Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Industrial Systems Lab Technician to support and manage system test labs for automation and control systems. This role ensures reliable lab operations, secure industrial networks, and well-maintained test environments that support PLC, HMI, and industrial PC–based systems.
Key Responsibilities- Manage day-to-day operations and infrastructure of Industrial Systems system test labs
- Maintain, configure, and upgrade PLCs, HMIs, industrial PCs, automation hardware, and simulation environments
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues; configure switches, routers, and segmented lab networks
- Administer virtual environments (VMware, Hyper‑V) and maintain virtual machines for testing and training
- Apply and maintain cybersecurity controls in alignment with IEC 62443 standards and internal policies
- Coordinate lab scheduling, system readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain accurate inventories of lab assets, software licenses, and client‑supplied materials using ERP systems
- Receive, inspect, track, and ship automation systems and lab equipment
- Maintain technical documentation including network diagrams, procedures, and incident logs
- Perform regular safety inspections and serve as lab liaison for safety committees and building management
- Technical diploma or associate degree in industrial automation, electrical/electronics technology, computer networking, mechatronics, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 1 year of hands‑on experience in automation systems, industrial networking, or technical lab environments
- Working knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, industrial networks, and virtualization platforms
- Strong organizational, documentation, and problem‑solving skills
- Exposure to advanced industrial automation and control systems
