Job Title:

EPIC Application Analyst III
- Healthy Planet

Overview

Full‑time position located at 451 Kimball Ave NE
- Roanoke CP07 Carilion Medical Center. The Application Analyst III performs Epic application system analysis and design, including requirements, specifications, configuration, documentation, testing, implementation, and support. The role also provides troubleshooting, training, reporting, and may support integrated third‑party applications. The work schedule is primarily onsite; candidates residing in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, West Virginia, or Virginia may be considered for remote or hybrid schedules.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct intermediate to advanced analysis of Epic application design and system workflows.
  • Independently manage assigned projects and work efforts, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Lead requirements gathering and facilitate design sessions with stakeholders.
  • Analyze and translate business needs into system solutions with minimal supervision.
  • Develop and maintain documentation and knowledge resources for supported Epic and non‑Epic applications.
  • Develop working knowledge of assigned Epic module(s) and related development and maintenance tools, applying in‑depth knowledge within those module areas.
  • Understand how assigned Epic modules integrate with other Epic systems across the organization.
  • Assist with implementation of new Epic modules and system enhancements.
  • Serve as a resource for Epic application and system support and provide guidance to team members.
  • Assume a mentoring role, supporting analysts and contributing to team knowledge sharing.
  • Serve as a liaison across multiple Epic modules, teams, and stakeholders.
  • Interact with internal and external customers and stakeholders in a professional manner.
  • Apply independent judgment and decision‑making within established guidelines and escalates issues as appropriate.
  • Identify opportunities for system improvements and support optimization efforts.
  • Adhere to application change management processes, including communication, documentation, and post‑change support.
  • Track work effort and communicate project and task status effectively.
  • Participate in an on‑call rotation, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications
  • Education: Associate's degree in computer science, information systems, healthcare, business, or 2 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years of related experience.
  • Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration: Obtain and maintain a minimum of 3 vendor and/or industry certifications/proficiencies as determined by management, following a primary Epic support application proficiency path. Maintain a certification/proficiency in applicable Epic module(s).

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Self‑initiated team player who can work under little supervision; strong organizational, problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills; ability to work independently and in a team; facilitation of a positive and collaborative work environment; flexibility and prioritization of multiple tasks; dependable, accountable, and adherence to documentation and departmental processes; awareness of clinical and compliance impacts; adaptability, continuous learning, and respect for confidential information;

    ability to work in a matrixed environment and understand bimodal work principles. Primary work schedule is Monday–Friday during standard business hours, with flexibility for after‑hours on‑call rotation and occasional travel.
Compensation

$89,232.00 - $ (Employee pay is based on qualifications, credentials, education, and prior experience. The range does not include benefits or pension plan.)
