Position Summary

Virginia Transformer is seeking a highly organized and proactive Project Coordinator to join our Roanoke, VA office. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys driving projects forward, collaborating across multiple manufacturing facilities, and ensuring critical customer orders stay on schedule.

The Project Coordinator serves as the communication hub between customers, manufacturing plants, engineering, supply chain, and operations. Success in this role requires someone who naturally takes ownership, follows through on commitments, solves problems proactively, and keeps multiple priorities moving without constant direction.

An engineering degree is not required
. Candidates with strong project coordination, manufacturing, operations, customer service, or supply chain experience are encouraged to apply. A technical or engineering background is considered a plus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate customer projects from order release through final delivery.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the Dallas office and Virginia Transformer manufacturing facilities.
  • Monitor project schedules, milestones, and production status to ensure on-time execution.
  • Take ownership of assigned projects and proactively drive them to completion.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, planning, purchasing, logistics, and customer service teams.
  • Identify potential schedule or production issues and work cross-functionally to resolve them.
  • Communicate project updates internally and externally with professionalism and urgency.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, reports, and status updates.
  • Track critical action items and ensure accountability across multiple stakeholders.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance project execution and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.
  • 3+ years of experience in project coordination, operations, manufacturing, customer service, supply chain, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Preferred

  • Engineering degree or technical background.
  • Experience working in manufacturing or industrial environments.
  • Experience coordinating projects across multiple facilities.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar.
  • Experience supporting capital equipment or engineered-to-order products.
