- Assume leadership role on weekend rotation, communicating with all departments and ensuring all staff are on duty.
- Maintain staffing reports, handle call‑outs and adjust personnel as needed.
- Perform rounds to observe housekeeping conditions and respond to radio calls.
- Document and forward reports (e.g., rounds, accident reports) to supervisor.
- Coordinate with the Supervisor On Call for support.
- Conduct laundry services: linen inventory, delivery, washing, drying, and storing cleaning cloths; manage clothing room.
- Assist in storing/releasing resident belongings and complete related paperwork.
- Operate housekeeping equipment, troubleshooting problems and reporting malfunctions.
- Keep assigned space clean and orderly, cleaning equipment after each use and reporting repairs.
- Apply appropriate cleaning techniques to surfaces, floors, carpets, fabrics; perform stripping, refinishing, burnishing, buffing, shampooing, sweeping, dust mopping, damp/wet mopping, dusting, polishing, scrubbing, vacuuming, and waste removal.
- Replenish supplies such as paper towels, toilet paper, hand soaps, deodorants, and clean up body fluids and waste.
- Work off ladders and use hand tools to exchange window drapes, curtains, blinds, glass, walls, and ceiling vents.
- Adhere to department and facility policies for all functions.
- Maintain records/reports of floor, carpet, and furnishings maintenance schedules.
- Perform additional duties as assigned within Environmental Services mission.
- Assist the agency or state government during emergency declarations by the Governor.
Some knowledge in the use of cleaning devices such as brooms, mops, buffers, and other cleaning equipment.
Additional ConsiderationsHigh School Diploma desired.
