Duties:
Responsible for the overall efficiency of the processes and equipment assigned in customization line (punching press, plasma cut, automatic welding, and heat treatment), supporting the multifunctional team to keep equipment operational following manufacturer’s instructions and best practices, executing and leading problem-solving. Lead continuous improvement activities, problem solving and MOS implementation, training and mentoring the Manufacturing Team. Lead capability analysis, work cell layouts and material flow planning for new products and processes.
Apply engineering knowledge and experience to manufacturing processes to keep them optimal and cost-effective in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. Recommend and implement projects and improvements to production processes, equipment, methods and controls. Ensure successful execution of projects (i.e. equipment obsolescence, capacity increase, new technologies, cost reduction, etc.) leading and following the MPS guidelines. Work with external vendors and companies to define, select, deliver, and qualify new solutions for the manufacturing process, using industry best practices and working within time and budget.
Implement continuous improvement project in welding equipment, programming and troubleshooting. Offer ideas for improvement of all systems and help implement the improvements. Lead area in achieving plant quality objectives/goals (100% on-time delivery to customer and 0 PPM on parts to all customers). Understand customer needs and work towards meeting and exceeding them. Identify and solve manufacturing problems and opportunities to improve the current processes and equipment, product quality and productivity and to decrease cost and waste.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Industrial Engineering, Manufacture Engineering, or related discipline.
Experience:
5 years of experience in the job offered, or in a manufacturing engineer position. Experience must include supporting the improvement of assembly and welding lines. Must have hands-on experience developing new applications and projects for joining/welding within the automotive chassis industry. Experience can be gained concurrently. Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training or experience.
