We are seeking a Production Coordinator for our client – a leader in the beauty and personal care industry. The Production Coordinator will oversee day-to-day activities on the production floor.

Type: Contract to hire

Location: Roanoke, VA

Rate: $20/hr

Shift: M-F 1st Shift;
Some weekend work

Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily shift operations, providing direction and support to Line Leads and production personnel.
  • Ensure production lines are staffed appropriately and running at required rates.
  • Facilitate clear communication between departments to maintain smooth and synchronized operations.
  • Monitor and enforce quality control standards to ensure compliance with manufacturing requirements.
  • Verify and approve line startups, including line balancing, material issuing, and quality clearances.
  • Assist the Production Supervisor as needed and serve as a backup in their absence.
  • Manage and track production schedules to support on-time completion of work orders.
  • Coordinate resources, staffing, and materials to maintain optimal production efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot production challenges to minimize downtime and maintain workflow.
  • Analyze production performance data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Review, verify, and sign off on batch record documentation and processes.
  • Support execution of rework activities related to quality-issued NCMRs.
  • Conduct hourly reviews of production boards and proactively address issues on packaging lines.
  • Coordinate material movement through production, including component acquisition and returns.
Qualifications
  • HS Diploma (BS degree preferred but not required)
  • 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Experience with cGMP practices and working knowledge of safety standards and OSHA regulations
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing setting
