Position Summary

The Operations Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of production personnel engaged in packaging products for storage and shipment as well as the warehouse personnel engaged in staging, shipping and receiving. This position ensures maximum safety, quality, and productivity while minimizing errors and inefficiencies. The Operations Supervisor provides leadership and direction on production lines, manages daily production, warehouse and distribution operations, and implements policies and procedures to improve operational effectiveness and workplace conditions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Supervise daily operations of production and warehouse staff across multiple plant areas including the tank farm, bulk team, flam pad, acid pad, railyard, and DEF (diesel exhaust fluid) operations as well as the warehouse.
  • Plan, assign, and monitor work to ensure the timely completion of daily production and distribution activities.
  • Monitor production workflow, control points, and resource allocation to optimize productivity.
  • Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards, including OSHA, DOT, and internal compliance requirements.
  • Promote and enforce safe work practices; ensure proper use of PPE and conduct daily safety inspections.
  • Resolve personnel issues, coach and mentor employees, conduct performance reviews, and make employment decisions as needed.
  • Track attendance, timekeeping, and employee performance metrics; manage departmental priorities and scheduling.
  • Balance quality, cost, productivity, safety, and morale to drive continuous improvement across all areas.
  • Conduct or assist with incident and accident investigations; oversee safety committee initiatives and updates to safety procedures.
  • Support the Operations Manager with all assigned goals and expectations of the warehouse and production teams.
  • Assist the Operations Manager with implementation of environmental and regulatory requirements and the site’s security plan.
  • Provide timely reporting on departmental performance, including production metrics, inventory tracking, and shipping logs.
  • Ensure daily completion of documents related to inbound receiving, drumming, intercompany transfers, and bulk inventories.
  • Supervise warehouse shipping and receiving operations, including the inspection and testing of bulk vessels and rail cars in accordance with federal DOT regulations.
  • Submit purchase order requests for departmental needs and monitor inventory levels and supply usage.
  • Implement and uphold policies and procedures; enforce discipline where necessary to maintain a positive, accountable work culture.
  • Review and improve production procedures, quality standards, and inventory control programs to support profitable operations.
  • Participate in and support the daily closing procedures of the warehouse and production areas
  • Maintain a clean and organized facility, supporting site‑wide housekeeping and maintenance initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent industrial or supervisory experience will be considered.
  • 5–8 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting strongly preferred.
