Welder Level I will be responsible for fitting and welding various non-pressurized, structural weldments. Must have the ability to interpret blueprints with the use of weld symbol knowledge and fabrication experience. Must obtain DOT weld qualification in order to develop growth to become a Welder Level II.
Requirements Specific Responsibilities- Welding stainless steel and mild steel fabricated weldments
- Capable of Flux Core Arc welding, MIG welding, plasma and torch cutting
- Preparation of weld seams prior to welding
- Proficient ability to perform tasks with various air and hand tools
- Ability to layout parts of fabricated assemblies by interpretation of engineering drawings
- Inspects completed weldments to ensure quality and conformance
- Properly transact work orders to capture labor and costs
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment for self and coworkers
- Additional responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor
- Adheres to schedules and commits to meeting deadlines (Reliability)
- Displays a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail (Competency)
- Takes initiative to improve processes and solve problems (Innovation)
- Understands priorities and applies an appropriate sense of urgency to fulfilling them (Prioritization)

- High school diploma or equivalent
- 0-2 years of relative welding in a manufacturing environment
- Vocational or Trade school
- Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry up to 50 pounds repeatedly
- Must be physically able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl and climb
- Must be respirator certified in order to wear a PAPR system for welding
- Must be able to perform welding in a confined space
