Job Summary

Eaton's EPG CHD EP Americas division is seeking a Receiving Team Member - 2nd Shift in Roanoke, VA. Core hours are 3:30pm–12:00am. The hourly rate is $21.51 plus $1.25 shift differential per hour.

Responsibilities
  • Verify, handle, and sort incoming shipments.
  • Utilize handheld RF scanners and powered industrial forklifts to transport and accurately place cases and pallets in designated locations.
  • Maintain a safe work environment while meeting quality and productivity standards.
  • Use RF units to scan product and location barcodes.
  • Relocate incoming shipments to pre‑identified locations.
  • Follow safety procedures for equipment use to reduce accident potential.
  • Use safety box cutters to cut packaging materials.
  • Complete daily check‑off sheets while monitoring equipment functionality.
  • Lift products and place them into proper staging locations.
  • Communicate with direct leadership for direction and answer questions or concerns.
  • Communicate with coworkers to share expertise.
  • Understand and meet quota/productivity requirements.
  • Maintain regular safety and cleaning standards to support 5S methodology.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Six‑month reach‑truck experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Remain standing for up to 10hours.
  • Ability to perform with constant arm movement.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge:
    • English language – knowledge of grammar, spelling, etc.
    • Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
    • Experience using SAP and WMS (Warehouse Management System) ERP systems.
    • Production and processing – awareness of techniques for maximizing manufacturing and production processes, including quality control.
  • Skills:
    • Critical coordination – adjusting one’s actions in relation to another.
    • Basic math – addition, subtraction, multiplication, division.
    • Speaking – conveying information to others effectively.
    • Time management – managing time to achieve predetermined goals.
    • Monitoring – assessing performance to improve or correct actions.
    • Active learning – understanding implications of new information.
    • Systems analysis – determining how a system should work and effects of changes.
    • Operation monitoring – observing gauges, dials, or other indicators to ensure machines are working properly.
  • Abilities:
    • Spatial orientation – knowing your location in relation to the environment.
    • Manual dexterity – quickly moving hands and arms to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
    • Dynamic strength – exerting muscle force repeatedly or continuously.
    • Gross body coordination – coordinating movement of arms, legs, torso together.
    • Multi‑limb coordination – coordinating two or more limbs while sitting, standing, or lying down.
