Position OverviewMen's Shelter/Laundry Assistant serves to provide for the safe operation of the Rescue Mission’s laundry services ministry, which operates 365 days a year. Supports the laundry needs of the Shelters and Kitchen. Assist the Shelter Supervisors in the shelter as needed.

Typical SchedulePart Time: 2 positions are open for these 2 shifts
- Sunday, Tuesday, Saturday - 2:30am - 11:30am; holidays as scheduled
- Wednesday, Friday, Saturday - 6:00pm - 3:00am; holidays as scheduled
$16.50/hour (non-exempt/hourly)
Job Responsibilities- Possess a sincere love of Christ and maintain a Christian walk that is evident of that love. Individual must be willing to adhere to The Rescue Mission’s Code of Ethics.
- Demonstrates a genuine interest in the safety and well-being of our guests and team members.
- Understanding of volunteer engagement and ability to utilize and appreciate volunteers in daily tasks.
- Strong work ethic and commitment to work as scheduled to include holidays and weekends as assigned.
- Strong listening, as well as written & verbal communication skills to execute instructions, keep others informed and exhibit professionalism.
- Demonstrated attention to detail/strong organizational skills to assist with multiple daily assignments and special projects.
- Ambitious to exceed expectations.
- Ability to learn and operate commercial washer and dryer equipment.
- Ability to organize and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
- Direct volunteers in assisting the completion of assigned tasks.
- Willingness to work in the shelter as needed.
- Available to attend shelter meetings as scheduled.
- Be aware of safety/security concerns and report to the appropriate person(s).
- Adhere to the safety protocols listed in the Laundry Guidelines for AM Shift.

All Rescue Mission of Roanoke team members may be asked to complete other duties as assigned by the Facilities Administrator or the Mission Leadership team.
