Carilion Clinic is seeking a dedicated and highly motivated Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our Neurocritical Care team.

• Perform comprehensive evaluations and management of critically ill neuroscience patients in the Neurocritical Care Unit.
• Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with attending physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
• Manage patients with conditions including acute ischemic stroke, intracerebral hemorrhage, subarachnoid hemorrhage, traumatic brain injury, status epilepticus, and postoperative neurosurgical conditions.
• Interpret diagnostic studies including imaging, laboratory results, and hemodynamic data.
• Perform procedures within scope of practice and institutional privileges.
• Participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds and care coordination.
• Document clinical encounters accurately and efficiently in the electronic medical record.
• Educate patients, families, nursing staff, and learners as appropriate.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and evidence‑based practice projects.

• Education:
  
  Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
• Experience:
  
  0 years (or as per requirement).
• Licensure/Certification:
  Current state‑licensed NP, RN (required), or Physician Assistant; DEA licensure required; AHA BLS‑HCP certification required;
  Advanced Life Support certification preferred.
• Eligible for prescriptive authority in accordance with state regulations.
• Strong collaboration skills with physicians and healthcare providers.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Computer literacy required for electronic medical records.
