Overview
RN opportunity in Vascular/Endovascular Operating Room at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Crystal Spring Tower. Primarily day/evening schedule with call requirement (30 minute call response time). $30,000 sign‑on bonus and relocation allowance available.
Responsibilities- Consistently deliver the best in care and customer service and demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with patients, families, visitors, and coworkers.
- Assume primary accountability for nursing coordination and provision of individualized care for patients of all ages.
- Use delegation and critical thinking skills to provide quality service through a team‑oriented, collaborative approach.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care to achieve optimum outcomes.
- Complete age‑specific admission and ongoing assessments, document them, and use them to develop and update plans of care.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team, patients, and families to develop, implement, and evaluate age‑specific interdisciplinary plans of care.
- Accurately administer and document treatments and medications for patients of all ages using automated computer systems, including electronic medical records (EPIC).
- Identify patient/family educational needs in a timely manner, incorporate them into the plan of care, and document appropriately.
- Contribute to Carilion Clinic’s performance‑improvement activities and act as a patient advocate and protector of patient rights.
- Demonstrate clinical expertise in rapidly changing circumstances and plan strategies to reduce length of stay, turnaround time, and resource consumption, improving patient outcomes.
- Function as a role model for clinical practice to coworkers, students, and physicians.
- Manage resources, establish priorities, and modify the environment to meet patient‑care needs.
- Complete manager/director predetermined projects within specified time frames and according to established guidelines.
- Use problem‑solving methods to facilitate resolution of patient and personnel situations that arise in the work area.
- Take an active role in the orientation of new employees, provide feedback, and participate in unit, hospital, and system activities that facilitate staff participation in decision‑making.
- Assist with educational activities for the unit or department.
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing or an approved nursing program eligible to sit for the Virginia RN licensure examination.
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Virginia or eligible to obtain Virginia RN licensure.
- AHA BLS‑HCP required; may need BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP based on work unit.
- Computer skills required for electronic medical record (EPIC).
