** comprehensive perioperative care**, managing patients across the full continuum—from
** initial consultation through postoperative recovery and discharge**. You will work alongside experienced cardiothoracic surgeons, APPs, and multidisciplinary professionals in a high-acuity, cutting-edge environment.##

Key Responsibilities ### ### Critical Care Management
* Manage patients recovering from complex cardiothoracic surgeries, including:  + Aortic surgery  + Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG)  + Thoracic surgery  + Valve surgery### ### Mechanical Circulatory Support Collaboration
* Partner closely with attending physicians and APP colleagues in the management of advanced mechanical circulatory support devices, including:  + ECMO  + Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps (IABPs)  + Left Ventricular Assist Devices (LVADs)  + Impella  + Right Ventricular Assist Devices (RVADs)### Procedural Skills Development
* Perform and refine common ICU procedures, including:  + Bronchoscopy  + Central venous catheter placement  + Arterial line insertion  + Chest tube management### ### Patient Experience & Quality of Care
* Focus on optimizing patient experience, satisfaction, and clinical outcomes
* Deliver high-quality, evidence-based perioperative care### ### Diagnostic & Clinical Decision-Making
* Order and interpret relevant diagnostic studies
* Apply clinical judgment to guide timely and appropriate interventions### ### Emergency Response
* Respond to critical and emergent situations
* Provide rapid assessment and stabilization until definitive treatment is implemented## ## Ideal Candidate
* Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
* Strong interest or background in cardiothoracic surgery and/or critical care
* Comfortable practicing with a high level of autonomy in a fast-paced ICU setting
* Committed to teamwork, clinical excellence, and continuous professional growth#
** What We Require:

* Education:

** Graduate of an Accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.

* Experience:

** 0
* * Licensure/Certification:
** Current state Licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) and RN licensure required or Physician Assistant ( PA) , DEA license .
AHA BLS-HCP certification required.  Advanced Life Support certification preferred.  Eligible for prescriptive authority in accordance with State regulations and as authorized by the Virginia Boards of Nursing and Medicine.

** Other:
** Able to work collaboratively with physicians and other health care providers, good written and oral communication skills. Computer literacy required for automated computer systems, including electronic medical records.
