LPN Inpatient - Inpatient Physical Rehab - Roanoke

Job Overview

Full‑time LPN in inpatient physical rehabilitation at Carilion Roanoke Community Hospital. Shift days 6:45 a.m.–7:15 p.m., every other weekend with rotating holidays.

• Practice practical nursing under the direction of a registered nurse or physician.
• Partner with the RN to collect data, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.
• Engage in the nursing process for patients of all ages.
• Communicate frequently with team members, ancillary departments and physicians.
• Contribute to the patient/resident database and interdisciplinary plan of care.
• Identify educational needs of patients/families/caregivers and incorporate education into the plan of care.
• Apply knowledge of growth and development to provide appropriate care.
• Implement prescribed therapeutic treatment plans and procedures.
• Administer prescribed medication to patients/residents.
• Advocate for patients, protect rights, provide psychological/social/cultural support.
• Support performance improvement activities and service area/facility initiatives.
• Contribute to orientation and career development of others; may assign tasks as needed.

• Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing.
• Licensed to practice practical nursing in Virginia.
• No prior experience required; must complete de-escalation training within four months of hire.
• Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development principles and data collection to identify patient needs.
• Ability to interpret information and provide care according to departmental policies.
