• Provide leadership and managerial oversight for CRNAs while maintaining required clinical practice responsibilities.
• Ensure the delivery of safe, high‑quality anesthesia care to patients of all ages.
• Develop, coordinate, and execute system‑wide anesthesia care processes aligned with organizational strategy.
• Facilitate effective two‑way communication and resolve operational issues to support service line goals and patient care outcomes.
• Coach, mentor, and guide the CRNA staff; oversee selection, onboarding, performance management, and professional development.
• Organize and oversee daily anesthesia operations, including staffing models, scheduling, workflow coordination, and resource allocation.
• Participate in budget planning and manage departmental resources within established financial targets.
• Monitor quality, patient safety, and performance improvement initiatives; collect and review data, identify trends, and develop action plans.
• Maintain clinical competence and fulfill clinical responsibilities as appropriate to departmental needs.
• Ensure staff maintain required competencies and compliance with clinical standards.
• Develop anesthesia plans of care in coordination with anesthesiologists or attending physicians; administer and adjust anesthetic care based on patient response.
• Document anesthesia care accurately and completely in the medical record and ensure patient safety throughout transitions of care.
• Lead or participate in departmental projects and initiatives to support service line objectives, quality outcomes, and operational efficiency.
• Exercise managerial authority to resolve routine operational and staffing issues; escalating complex or system‑level concerns to leadership as appropriate.

• Bachelor’s degree required, or equivalent combination of education and 4 years of relevant experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in anesthesia or a closely related clinical discipline with demonstrated leadership or supervisory responsibilities.
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• Current certification as an active, practicing Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) through the AANA Council on Certification and Recertification.
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Demonstrated ability to lead clinical teams, manage complex operations, and make independent decisions using advanced clinical judgment and leadership authority.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to function effectively in a high‑acuity, fast‑paced healthcare environment.
