- Outpatient Surgery (Open).

• Provide professional nursing care to patients of all ages, performing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure safe, effective, and high‑quality patient outcomes.
• Coordinate care delivery and administer treatments and medications accurately, documenting care in electronic medical records.
• Identify and address patient and family education needs.
• Participate in performance improvement and quality initiatives.
• Advocate for patients and support their rights and psychosocial needs.
• Implement strategies to improve patient outcomes and resource utilization.
• Serve as a role model, supporting the development of peers and team members.
• Manage resources, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing patient care needs.
• Support orientation and training of new employees.
• Use problem‑solving skills to address patient care and operational challenges.
• Provide feedback and participate in shared decision‑making activities.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with regulatory and organizational standards.

• Graduate of a State Board of Nursing approved program.
• No prior experience required.

• Current Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia, or eligibility to obtain licensure.
• AHA BLS‑HCP required; additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or NRP may be required based on assigned work area.

• Keyboarding skills and computer literacy, including use of electronic medical records.
• For behavioral health roles, ability to safely manage disruptive or potentially violent patients.

Range: $33.52 - $50.28 per hour. Employee pay is based on qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience. Benefits and pension plan are not included in this range.
